Young people are supported to reach their potential

  • Create an education system that equips all young people for their future, and achieves excellent and affordable post school pathways.

  • Ensure ‘at risk’ young people stay engaged in education by improving access to, and expanding the network of, suspension centres across NSW.

  • Change the story on youth unemployment through commitment to a plan for youth employment in the first 100 days of government as well as help for young people who need it to find and keep work.

  • Young people with a care experience have the right to a supported placement until 21 and priority access to housing services until the age of 25 years.

  • Establish a virtual schools program - similar to Victoria’s successful ‘Lookout Centre’ model - to ensure students in out-of-home care receive the extra learning support they need to achieve educational success.
